Introduction

What ashao is — AI powered by people, not data centers — and why a people-powered network exists.

ashao is a decentralized AI agent network. Instead of renting time on a warehouse of GPUs, ashao routes your prompts across compute shared by real people — browsers running WebGPU, idle gaming rigs, native workers — and falls back to the cloud only when it has to. The result is private, uncensored AI agents that you help run and, through $ASHAO, partly own.

Most AI products are a black box bolted onto someone else's data center. You send a prompt, it disappears into a building you'll never see, and the value created flows back to whoever owns the silicon. ashao inverts that. The network is the people in it: the person whose laptop answered your last question is earning for the tokens they generated, and the stakers who secured the queue share in the revenue the network produces.

People-powered

Inference runs on volunteered compute first — browser WebGPU workers and native machines — with cloud providers as an automatic fallback, never the default.

Private by design

Prompts are not retained after a job completes, and workers only ever see the text they are asked to continue — never your identity, wallet, or account.

Agentic

ashao agents don't just autocomplete. They plan, call tools like web search, and cite what they used so you can check their work.

Owned by stakers

Network revenue is real and on-chain. Half funds buyback-and-burn of $ASHAO; half is paid to stakers who back the network.

What you can do with it

  • Create images from a prompt, with style and aspect controls, kept private to your own gallery.
  • Earn by running a worker: share your browser or GPU and get paid in USDC for the tokens you produce.

A note on “uncensored”

ashao does not editorialize your prompts or silently rewrite your intent. The network is built to be neutral plumbing for inference. That is a deliberate design choice in service of privacy and user control — not an invitation to do harm. You are responsible for what you ask for and what you do with the output, the same way you are responsible for what you type into any tool.
